Serial international entrepreneur Maxine Fensom has done it all: adult industry trailblazer, cannabis tour owner, media figure, entertainer, fashion designer, activist, and sexpert.
A graduate of Swinburne Technical College, Brisbane-born Fensom was an actress and professional troupe dancer for years before she rose to fame with a daily horoscope segment on the “In Melbourne Today” news program. But for the last few decades, the one-time Playboy Australia “Playmate of the Month” has been a notable pioneer in the adult industry in Australia. In 2000, she established the Australian Adult Industry Awards, and later went on to launch the national Miss Erotica and Miss Dream Girl pageants — all in the name of empowering and promoting recognition among exotic female performers and equality for women within the adult industry.
Naturally, Fensom’s eccentric life provided plenty of color for her very own biography; Maxine Stripped Naked: Tales From the Sex Industry was released in 2004. She continued to embed herself as a notable figure within the industry in Australia. With the help of friend and business partner, Larry Flynt, the porn king of the Hustler brand empire, Fensom opened famed Brunswick-based Maxine’s Gentlemen’s Club in 2007, and still operates it today.
Upon relocating to Las Vegas in 2017, the fiery Fensom had years of successful business experience and the financial freedom to pursue her other passions. She was uniquely positioned as a hospitality expert in many commercial verticals, public endeavors and tourism and went full force into creating and supporting local Southern Nevada businesses.
She went on to found the Sin City Chamber of Commerce and Las Vegas Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, the latter of which helped her pivot into the legal cannabis industry by launching Las Vegas Cannabis Tours in 2020. It is one of the only marijuana tours in Las Vegas fully owned and run by a female. The excursions attract both locals and visitors, visit major dispensaries, cannabis museums and grow houses in Las Vegas. Health and wellness has always been a personal passion, and Fensom now gets to bring it to the masses. She features several in-demand behind-the-scenes dispensary tour package options, starting at just $49.99 per person, all the way up to the exclusive VIP-style Ganja Tour where guests get to participate in glass blowing to make their own bongs, enjoy a marijuana cooking class and experience a helicopter ride over the Las Vegas Strip, priced at $375 per person. The rapid and recent success of Las Vegas Cannabis Tours gained recognition in a feature from The New York Times in July 2021, and French TV show Sept à Huit (French adaptation of 60 minutes), October 2021.
Fensom further channeled her passion for hospitality in Las Vegas by launching Sin City Foodie Tours in 2021. The multi-faceted business woman, also an ordained minister, is in the process of debuting Vegas Baby Weddings, which provides planning services and packages for couples tying the knot.
Fensom’s ethereal, earthy and entrepreneurial spirit dictates much of what she decides to put her energy and passion into. Aside from her other Las Vegas ventures, Fensom most recently created her very own fashion line during the initial COVID-19 lockdown. The line, Tinsel Glamour, features an explosion of bold vests, jackets and dresses, each handmade with vibrant colorful tinsel, available for children, women and men. Tinsel Glamour is a collaboration with renowned artist Madelaine Buttini, aka Madbutt, and was crafted after the works of Buttini provided Fensom with inspiration and whimsical hope during the pandemic.
Maxine is currently living happily with her handsome younger partner, David, and is mother to an adorable 3-year-old rescue chihuahua, Chloe.
She is passionate about health, wellness, and breaking societal norms regarding ageism.
Maxine is based between Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Melbourne, and dedicates her time to ventures supporting woman’s empowerment, and promoting independence from the patriarchy, abuse, and exploitation.
In terms of future endeavors, Maxine is extremely excited to be bringing the long-running Australian ‘Sexpo’ Convention to the United States in 2022, and give it an Aussie feel.
